U.S.-EU Free Trade Agreement Within Reach?

The U.S. and the EU together account for almost half of world GDP and 30 percent of world trade. A U.S.- EU FTA would create the biggest free trade bloc in the world, and represent a significant boon to the U.S. and European economies. The question is, can it be done?

The World Affairs Council is dedicated to educating people in western Michigan about other countries, cultures and regions of the world, as well as providing a forum for discussion of critical foreign policy issues facing this country.

Debriefing: Qatar – Sand, Sea and Sky

This country on the Arabian peninsula is becoming politically significant because of its strategic location and natural gas wealth. Join us as we kick off our new program season with this warm and personal reminiscence of her time in Qatar.

Putting on over 40 events, webcasts and telecons each year with a small staff requires the help of many dedicated volunteers. People of all ages, interests, and backgrounds come together to assist with many of our activities including our Fall Lecture Series, our Great Decisions Foreign Policy Lecture Series, and WorldQuest™ to name just a few.

WorldQuest 2013 a Huge Success!

Another successful – and immensely fun – WorldQuest Game of International Trivia is in the history books. Twenty-five teams vied for bragging rights but only three walked away with the top prizes.

THE Game of International Trivia, WorldQuest™ is an opportunity to test your knowledge of global news, economics, politics, geography, and pop culture, build camaraderie with your colleagues, have fun, and well, maybe drink a local brew or two. All for a good cause. What’s not to love?
